Sandman/Death Movie

23.03.2009 (1:16 pm) – Filed under: geek

Apparently a movie version of Neil Gaiman’s Death character is in the works.  According to Gaiman the movie will be based on the storyline of “Death: The High Cost of Living.”  I’d always wondered what a movie version of anything Sandman-related would look like, for some reason I always considered “Season of Mists” to be the novel probably most adaptable into a movie (at least in terms of being self-contained and relatively self-explanatory), but the possibility of a movie based on one of the other Endless hadn’t occurred to me.  Cons:  Shia LaBeouf possibly starring.  Pros:  Possible Tori Amos soundtrack; Gaiman directing, if only because it’s good to have the writer in control of the project.

    Yo.

Coraline has, I believe been turned into a movie. And Stardust was also made into a movie. But they are not Endless-related.

I'd also heard that for a while now 'Good Omens' was in the works... know what became of that?

I'm still waiting to see how long it goes until someone buys the rights to the 'Lucifer' graphic novels...

I have not heard of the Good Omens movie. I've heard that Coraline was supposed to be good though. There was also "Neverwhere," the TV series, although it wasn't directed by Gaiman and I didn't think it was that well done.

Hrmm.. I wouldn't be surprised if someone already owns the rights to the Lucifer novels, a lot of the Vertigo titles seem to be being bought up. I thought "Season of Mists" would have made the best movie because it's not only relatively self-contained, but, it also introduces the Lucifer character... so they would have room for two separate spin-offs...
